Privacy Policy
WholeStory — Story Maker
Effective 28 October 2026
In short: WholeStory does not collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your photos and stories stay on your iPhone.
Who we are
WholeStory is made by Georgios Zacharidis (GZVS), Thessaloniki, Greece. For any privacy question, write to gzvsDev@icloud.com.
Your photos
- You choose photos with Apple's photo picker. WholeStory can only see the photos you pick — not the rest of your library.
- Everything — layouts, captions, Comic Ink, speech bubbles and videos — is created on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- When you save a story, WholeStory asks for permission to add it to your photo library. It does not ask to read your library.
- Stories you are working on are not stored by us. Finished stories are saved only where you choose (your photo library, or an app you share to).
Date & place stamps
If you turn on Stamps, WholeStory reads the date and location saved inside the photos you picked. To turn a location into a place name (for example "Naxos"), the app sends that photo's coordinates to Apple's location service. This happens only while Stamps is on, nothing else is sent with it, and we never receive it. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy. You can edit or remove any stamp before exporting.
Purchases
WholeStory Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. To know how many free Pro exports you have left, the app keeps a small counter on your iPhone (in the iOS keychain and app settings). It never leaves your device.
Sharing
When you share a story to Instagram or another app, iOS hands the image or video to that app, and that app's own privacy policy applies from then on. WholeStory only shares when you tap share.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash reporting SDKs, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No cookies, no servers of our own and no third-party SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of data — there is no data to sell or share.
Children
WholeStory is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone, apart from the free-export counter kept in the iOS keychain. If you have a question or a request under the GDPR or any other privacy law, email gzvsDev@icloud.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
